New Year Thoughts

A little late on this but at least we are still in the right month so I'll consider that a win.

2015 was a busy year for us. It didn't feel like we slowed down at all. Whistle & Flute had it's best year yet, our boys turned 1 and 3 (and me, 30!) and we bought our first house. We had been living with my parents since I went back to school to become a health care assistant and then we had Aki. We really loved the closeness and extra support. It was a really hard decision to leave but we found an amazing fixer upper just down the street with much more room for the business and our family. We spent 3 months renovating before we moved in and are so happy in our home. Is it weird when your house feels like another family member?

I expected that we'd have some down time in December since usually things slow down after online Christmas shopping and sales but that wasn't so. Orders kept coming and the amount of family activities and celebrations are at an all time high. Every weekend there were things to do and places to go. On Christmas Day we travelled to Castlegar where Ryan's family is in the Kootnays and actually got to enjoy some real down time for a few days.

Going into 2015, I, like many others am trying to start fresh. I hope this year to be able to put my phone down more, multi-task less and give whatever I'm doing or whoever I'm with my full attention. I want to take care of myself more and find an exercise routing I enjoy (does this exist?) I want to push myself out of my box more and get out into the community.

I hope you all have a great start to 2016. Stay tuned here as we are excitedly working on our first manufactured items this year and have some great new designs I think everyone will love. We are very excited to have hired our seamstress, Megan as our shipping manager which has been game changing.  I'm also going to try to keep on top of this blog and bring in some guest bloggers too.
