Aki turned 3 this year and we’ve been trying to incorporate preschool like activities in his daily life. Here’s a little about what we’ve been doing and we’d love to hear if you have any great activities to share!
Please note: we are by no means educators or experts on childhood education.
We are planning to put Aki into preschool for one year before Kindergarten.
But we are loving his curiosity and interest in learning.
Grimm’s makes the most beautiful and educational toys. We love this sorting game and our stacking rainbow.
Archer has been obsessed with water and washing his hands and playing in the tub. About the 5th time in a row he was climbing my leg up to the sink I thought to give them a towel and a pot full of water to play with. I’m happy to report it was fairly mess free and about half an hour of play.
It’s all about making things together (a rocket ship if you couldn’t tell..)
and learning through play and imagination.
Aki is known for stealing our work boxes and stickers and drawing on them. I was surprised and delighted to find this hat box with a perfect letter A inside.
Aki got it in his head that he wanted to make me a necklace. I found these beads on etsy. He was so excited and it was great for his concentration, hand eye coordination and dexterity.
Helping making pizza Love this Janod alphabet puzzle from amazon.
I would highly recommend these books I found on Amazon. Aki really likes them and I love the montessori philosophy. These books have texture so you can trace with your finger as you read along.
One of my favourite resources for great toddler activities is Pinterest! Follow us for ideas!

We are loving learning from home and getting to spend time together. Like most 3 year olds he is so full of curiosity (and never ending questions!) We’d love to hear about your education plans for your kids. Will you home school? Public school? Montessori?
xoxo
